Having relocated myself several times in my life, I know how important it is to have local support otherwise relocating can be quite isolating and tough.
There are all the practical things we need to do to get set up in our new location, and there are all these other things that one might not think about but which will make you create a meaningful new life for yourself or not. I am talking about the human side of things: how quickly you will make friends, how will you create a life balance, where you will have fun in your life etc.
Making friends for instance is not an easy task and seems to get tougher and tougher as we grow older, simply because people's lives get very busy with time and they don't "need" so much to make new friends as they grow older, possibly leaving you -the newly arrived- feeling lonely.
This is why it is actually very important to have the right support in your new place and a support that not only helps you get your health cover sorted, helps you find the right school for your children and all that sort of practical things but also helps you get a friends, meet people, have fun in your new life.
So with this in mind, I have searched and found Kathy Nunn. Kathy is a relocation specialist who runs Elite Executive Relocations -to support people relocating for work- and Elite Cultural Discovery -offering the possibility to live the dream of living somewhere, like a local, for a limited period of time.
In this interview she tells us about how she organises networking parties for her clients or encourages them to have a life beside their works. This sort of support goes a long way and shares the same values I hold high in my heart as to offer a quality relationship to our clients.
So if you are relocating and want to feel quickly at home in your new place or if you have the dream of living somewhere in the world for 2,3,6 months like a local, you'll be interested in this interview.
